Electric vehicles have massively grown in popularity over the last decade, which is largely due to the advancements in EV technology.

The technology that has been made available so far means that more manufacturers are able to produce high-quality electric vehicles. This also means that Tesla faces stiffer competition from other brands, as they were previously the clear leaders in the EV industry.

The people that will benefit from this most are the customers, as they are getting a greater choice of high-quality EVs at more affordable prices. The more that brands invest in EV technology, the more advanced electric vehicles will become. This will also help to increase the distances in which EVs can travel in a single charge and benefit the overall efficiency of the electric motor system.

Which Brands Produce EVs?

The most popular brand of electric vehicle is undoubtedly Tesla. This is due to their huge marketing presence and exceptional vehicles. Elon Musk, who is currently the CEO of Tesla, is arguably one of the most famous men on the planet, which only draws more attention to the company. This acts as a promo and helps sell vehicles and having a tesla lease, this is a great affordable way to own a Tesla vehicle as they are known as reliable and a great investment as they offer some of the best performance stats of EVs on the market today.

Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi are all part of the same group and have produced some extremely popular EVs. The Nissan Leaf is a great example of an affordable electric vehicle that is capable of quality performance. This hatchback is ideal for city driving and travels around 168 miles on a single charge.

BMW announced their investment into electric vehicle technology in spectacular fashion with the BMW i8. Although it was a hybrid, this marked BMW’s pathway into the production of EVs. The i8 was a stunning car that resembled the look of a supercar, rather than a family car. The company’s electric models that have followed, however, have been suitable for various uses, from the compact i3 to the X3, which is ideal for larger families.

Volkswagen has become known as a brand that produces good quality, reliable petrol cars; however, they’ve admitted a solid entry to the electric car market in the form of the Up. The electric hatchback is compact, capable and can travel around 160 miles on a single charge. The ID.3 and ID.4 are also electric vehicles produced by the company but arguably haven’t garnered the same reputation as the Up.

As more efficient ways of creating electric cars become available, the market will only grow, so keep your eyes peeled for the next big EV model!
