Aeternity

Aeternity is a blockchain project aims to build an environment with a transparent governance which uses efficient and globally scalable smart contracts and decentralised applications (dApps).

Despite a decline earlier in the year, cryptocurrency has continued to hold a great deal of interest for investors. And it’s looking like 2019 will follow suit.

Aeternity has released its first live implementation, bringing the new blockchain platform one step closer to providing scalable smart contracts and user-friendly oracles. The new implementation, code-named Roma, was released at a launching ceremony in Rome earlier this week.

“After two years’ hard work, aeternity has created a system that delivers on the original promise of enabling faster transactions without sacrificing rich functionality and decentralisation,”said aeternity founder Yanislav Malahov. “The protocol is based on an entirely new architecture that builds on the lessons learned over the past 10 years of blockchain-focused research.”

Aeternity (Ticker symbol: AE) is currently trading at $0.410873 (0.00010834 BTC) showing a 24h trading volume of $4,968,296. This compares favourably to the low of $0.221309 (0.00003827 BTC) that was recorded on Oct 28, 2018 at a 24h trading volume of $463,926. Yet, it is still far away from the high of $5.00 (0.00050797 BTC) that was recorded on May 5th, 2018. That being said, the important thing is that progress is being made albeit slowly. What is encouraging is to see that Aeternity continues to enjoy strong liquidity.

There seems to be a healthy uptick in trading volume when there is an uptick in the Aeternity price. This while overall, the same cannot be said when there is a drop in price. This bodes well for the price of Aeternity as it is certainly a bullish sign when trading volume follows higher prices (or vice versa). This however does not exclude the real possibility of more short-term pain.

Aeternity Price – 24h Closing Prices and Trading Volumes

See the table below. The 30-day average closing price of $0.446945 is 9% higher than the current Aeternity price of $0.410873 (Dec 26, 2018). This while the 30-day average 24h trading volume of $5,902,758 is 19% higher than the current 24h trading volume of $4,968,296. Is this a sign that more short-term pain may follow after the recent uptick in the Aeternity price? Or is this the ideal time to buy AE tokens?
