Shailesh Dash – A Visionary for MENA Investment Opportunities

In the past six years, Al Masah Capital Limited has successfully raised over $1 billion in venture capital funding various investments in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

Al Masah Capital is part of a group of companies – which also includes Regulus Capital (previously AM Partners), Regulus Advisors,  the AVIVO Group, Al Najah Education, Diamond Lifestyle, and Gulf Pinnacle Logistics – that are promoting both socially and ethically responsible investment opportunities in the MENA region.

The founder of these companies is Shailesh Dash, a successful and award-winning entrepreneur. He is extremely influential as Dash has been recognized by Forbes Magazine as one of the top 100 Indian Leaders in the Arab World for 2016. He was also recognized for the following four awards.

Previous Experiences in the Investment Field

Shailesh Dash has a post graduate degree in Business Management (PGDBM) from the FORE School of Management in New Delhi in 1994. He also graduated from the prestigious CFA Institute in 2003.

After graduating from FORE, Shailesh worked for Daewoo Motors India Limited as an Assistant Manager in their Corporate Finance & Treasury department. In 2000, he moved to Global Investment House in Kuwait. After gaining his CFA accreditation Shailesh was promoted to Senior Financial Analyst handling the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) market stock valuation and analyses. This began his interest in the opportunities that the MENA region could offer investors. Later that year, Shailesh received another promotion, this time as Head of Strategic Investments & Research for the GCC markets.

Growing Experience in Alternative Investments

After proving himself there, he moved to the alternative investment arm of Global Investment as a managing partner of Global Capital management Ltd. As part of his responsibilities, Shailesh managed over $4 billion worth of investments in private equity, hedge funds, and real estate investments. While supervising a team of 45 investment brokers, the alternative investment branch became the 2nd largest private equity business in the MENA region.

This experience served him well in his next business venture, the founding of Al Masah Capital Limited in 2010.

Shailesh Dash’s Award Winning Performance

In the past seven years, under Shailesh Dash’s guidance, Al Masah has been hailed as one of the fastest growing alternative investment firms in the MENA and South East Asia regions. Al Masah has successfully raised over $1 billion in investment capital since its founding. Not content to sit on his laurels, Shailesh began looking for other ways to bring opportunities to investors. After driving Al Masa Capital Limited to award winning performances, he founded Regulus Capital in 2016. Just a year after being founded, this private equity firm has almost $655 million in assets under management (AUM).

Dash has over twenty years of experience in the investment and entrepreneurial fields with a proven track record for seeking out and leveraging emerging investment opportunities. With over twenty years of experience in the investment landscape, it’s no wonder that Dash is able to consistently drive performance from whatever portfolio he chooses to undertake.
